How you can help?
Broad based community support is the key to our success. We operate under the assumption that many people want to help, and are willing to give a few hours of their time.
We try to make volunteering safe, simple and enjoyable. All volunteers are credentialed through Earl K. Long, a process which we help to facilitate. This allows volunteers to be covered by the State of Louisiana for any potential liability.
The work of the Volunteer Health Corps relies on dedicated, compassionate volunteer doctors, nurses, mental health professionals and support personnel. Each person's contribution makes a great impact and makes a difference in these patient's lives. Your support is vital so that we can continue to expand our reach.
By giving as little as 2 hours you can make a huge difference since your contribution of time is added to hundreds of others in the community. While we have only been in existence since June of 2007, the request for and appreciation of our services is constantly growing. Private health care practitioners in our community have an unique opportunity to show their compassion and concern by signing up to work with Volunteer Health Corps of Baton Rouge.
"If I can give back and help one person I have made a difference." - Dr. Yushen Lee
